Getting tagged... and liking it
This came via LargeTony. Have I ever told you how much I like Tony? Well he is the only blogger than made it into my 100 things list :) It's the meme where the "tagger" asks five questions of the "taggee" and then the "taggee" ends the post with the instructions for how the meme works so that it propagates like any good meme is supposed to.
Tony asked me the following:
1. If you saw an expensively dressed man drop a $100 bill and walk away without noticing, would you pocket the bill or try to catch up to him to return it?
It depends on the manner of the man. If he looked like a nice guy then I think I would. I have returned a wallet before. If, however, the guy reminded me of the current neo-conservative regime I would pocket it. In all truth my ethics are much more felxible than they probably should be.
2. What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?
Emotional voyeurism. Seriously. I think that's why I like blogs. I love reading about other people's lives and trying to imagine what I would do if I were them. There are only a couple "news and current events" blogs in my list. Everything else is pretty much journals. And I LOVE them. P.S. I love my "news and current events" blogs too.
3. If you had a super-power, what would it be?
Tough one. This actually makes me want to write a post about whether I would use my powers for heroic purposes or if I would become a villian, but that isn't the answer to this question. If I had psionic powers like telepathy I would absolutely abuse the power. One superhero I always thought looked cool was Colossus. The idea of a big metal man makes me grin :) One power I would love to have is the ability to make people's heads explode from long distances. That would be cool! "One Man, one woman." BOOOOOM!!
4. What adult had the most impact on who you are today?
My grandfather. Both positive and negative. For all the days I spent alone in my room seething at him, he was the one that got my my first job and helped me get my license. And though the environment he raised me in from age 16 to 22 was emotionally bleak, it was a far better fate than what my mother could have offered at that time. Perhaps the biggest reason that I didn't move after I graduated High School is that living with him made me so unhappy that I couldn't see the importance of coming out and finally being free. It clouded everything.
5. What bad habit would you like to break?
This whiney woe-is-me crap. Sometimes I even drive myself crazy. Hmm, this answer is exactly what I'm talking about, isn't it? Well, this ties into the previous answer. I made myself feel this way so that nobody else could. But let me break this bad habit right now by saying that this little blog of mine is helping me quite a bit. Like I said to Brian last night, I'm not as alone as I often think. So again, thank you!
